<<<<UPDATED>>> #1 Best and easiest way to get new clients using this Ning site! (or to get traffic to your own website)

This advice is good for the life coaches on this site, or ANYONE who wants to start a business on the web.

right now, the #1 most beneficial, (and the least time and effort), thing you can do to attract new clients is...

BLOG!

Here's 100 ways to get IDEAS for blog posts:

I guess the Oprah picture makes sense now, eh!

RE-USE & RE-PURPOSE... If you are already coming up with discussion topics for your groups, why not post them in your blog so they will show on the front page! Also, you can rewrite posts made by your members, or ask them to post them as a blog topic.

You do know HOW to blog, don't you?

You SIGN-IN to this site, click MY PAGE, look for the section in the middle that says MY BLOG, then at the bottom click "Create a New blog post". Then start typing.

BLOG A WEEK'S WORTH IN A DAY for efficiency!

When you're in the zone, don't just make one post, make 7. Then choose different dates for your posts IN THE FUTURE. Make them each a day apart. I won't give instructions since it's really obvious how to do once you make your first post.

COMMENT ON OTHER PEOPLE'S BLOG POSTS on the main page here... if they are quality posts. the more comments a post has, the more other people will read them. people often don't read posts that have 0 comments, but they do click on ones that have 27 comments! It's the crowd attracts a crowd thing. Sort of like watching an accident scene, we wonder what everyone else is looking at... so after posting, immediately comment on it yourself... make it an after thought or a call to action. How does commenting on someone else's post help you? It doesn't. But if you do it for them, they will reciprocate and that is what helps you!

LET YOUR FRIENDS KNOW WHEN YOU'VE MADE A BRILLIANT POST
If you have "friended" everyone on this site, you have 426 friends now.
once your blog topic is posted, click it to read it, then you will see it says SHARE at the bottom.
Choose SHARE WITH FRIENDS, and send to all friends. You might prefix it with a message which describes what the post is about, since otherwise they will only know the title. Also mention that you would appreciate if they comment on it.

SOCIAL BOOKMARK YOUR BLOG POST... most people arrive at BIGLIFE.ws as a result of a STUMBLEUPON bookmark. Go get the FIREFOX web browser if you are so unfortunate as to still be using Microsoft Internet Explorer, then install the social bookmarking toolbar plugin. Aawh, c'mon, it's not that hard. You just click the things to download them, then click them again to install them, and if it asks you any questions just click Yes, Yes, Yes.

For a social bookmark toolbar, Muhalo Share looks like a good choice. This will let you do several social bookmarks at once. When you do this regularly with every blog post, you may get 20-200 new visitors for every post. If you were paying a buck a click for Google Adwords, that's $20-200 worth of traffic for writing one post!

VISIT OTHER POPULAR SITES WHERE YOUR POTENTIAL CLIENTS GO... and make forum posts there. You can just repost your same blog post you did here as a forum topic. (Forum topics and blog posts are almost the same thing). Within the blog post, include a link to send them to your group here on BigLife. How to find relevant forums? Just Google your keywords plus the word "forum". Also search yahoo groups to find ones that match your interests. Also search other Ning sites at www.Ning.com It's really easy to attract other Ning members to your group since they are already here in the same environment!

....share YOUR IDEAS below!

Here's an amazing 42 minute audio interview with Melissa Pierce after she returned from the Chicago Bloggers Conference SOBCON 08. This was the turning point for us where we really started to profit from bloggin. This is a MUST LISTEN primer about blogging and blog commenting. The tips above are meant to be applied after you have this foundation.

This post and the audio gave me the grounding I needed to amp up blogging and results. It's just weird to my 1990's mindset to turn the internet into a flowing, changing, dynamic conversation rather than a static mail delivery system. It's well worth the listen, folks. Blogging is a combination of people do business with people they know, like and trust; be creative, smart, visual to get their attention (a little bit of marketing here); create a conversation.

As a person who blogs daily-but in journal form- I found this a great use of 42 minutes, and look forwrd to all the follow up! I was impressed that someone had even read my blog on here, I post it on several locations.
Thanks for the tip, I look forward to the Talk Shoe, and all the help I can get.
That's why I'm a paying member of Big Life!!

Good Lord! I've had it on my to-do list to get back to my blog and group since I returned from Chicago- sorry to miss you Melissa. I tried that dated blog thing, Victory, and it looked like it didn't post the future blog - it's just missing....I'll try again. My audience (new parents) isn't on this site yet, so that's why I figure I have few responses to my blog.

Jay Edgar... YES DO IT! Just copy and paste. If you don't want to have 100% duplicate content, you can just change the blog title a bit and maybe the opening line. Don't RSS it though because RSS is ignored by search engines.

Melissa and Victory
Thank you both for doing such a great job in encouraging us to be more professional by being more transparent and visible and approachable with blogs.

PS Could I write about how I had planned to go to the office today - a public holiday in Namibia - and instead blissing out with working on the patchwork blanket I make for my father's 90th birthday in two weeks time? How, even though I thoroughly enjoyed the sewing I constantly thoughts about the should I had placed on myself? I could have done a round of EFT on that, couldn't I?
